Key Stage 4
In Years 9, 10 and 11, learners continue following GCSE specifications for English, Maths and Science as well as their compulsory Physical Education (Year 9 learners also study core ICT for one per week). We begin our Options process towards the end of Year 8 in the spring term where learners are guided carefully onto a range of courses in which they show both interest and aptitude. The majority of learners will study History or Geography as well as a Modern Foreign Language (where appropriate). This will enable the vast majority of our learners to gain accreditation in the necessary subject areas to ensure they meet the requirements of progress 8 and attainment 8 measures, which are enhanced through a rigorous and academic curriculum.
