Half-term would certainly not be the same without our annual French study trip to Chateau Beaumont. This year, 42 learners sampled the delights of the Normandy region culminating in a trip to Euro Disney and Paris.
Learners improved their language skills via a range of activities such as Archery and Team building exercises. All instructions were given in French and learners were encouraged to interact in the language at all times. Learners had the opportunity to see French in Action when they visited a local market and put classroom role-play exercises into real life scenarios. A trip to a local celebrated Cider Factory allowed learners to appreciate local industry and sample the famous apple juice of the Normandy region.
All learners agreed that their time at the Chateau certainly widens their cultural knowledge whilst improving their language skills. The learners' behaviour was exemplary. The manager at the hotel in Paris remarked on their good manners and friendliness. A big thanks to all staff who gave up their half-term. Five days seemed too short and everyone was sad to say "Au Revoir"....well, until next year!!!
