Monday 6th April saw the launch of our gardening project. This project is being run as part of the promotion of Emotional Wellbeing in school and is being funded by Groundworks which is a charity organisation. The project itself is being organised by Lisa O’Reilly who is the Emotional Wellbeing Worker here at Castlebrook. The aim of the project is to create a garden within the quad area of the school with help from our own students and their parents/carers, grandparents or any other members of their family. This space will include a pond, sensory area, allotment, decked area, peer mentoring area, wildlife area and, hopefully, a lot more! On 6th April, students and members of their family, helped to launch the project by starting work on the space in the quad by planting trees, plants and generally tidying up the area. This is an ongoing two-year project and we would appreciate anyone who has an interest in gardening to come and help turn this space into a beautiful garden which students can enjoy. Volunteers are not only very welcome, but much needed! Please contact school if you are willing to come along on a Monday afternoon for approximately 1½ hours, or if you feel you are able to help in any other way.
