Once again the weather was very kind for our annual Prom as past Year 11 learners said a final farewell to Castlebrook. A great evening was had by all at the Dunkenhalgh Hotel in Accrington at the end of June.
Learners, as usual, arrived in a variety of styles and enjoyed the red carpet treatment.
Many thanks to all those who once again started the evening off with such support - Mums, Dads, Grandmas, Granddads, Brothers, Sisters and all!
Many thanks to all past Year 11 learners for their valuable contribution to Castlebrook over the last five years and we wish them every success in their future careers.

Staff climb Snowdon for Christie's |
On Saturday 9th April, five SSAs and one ex-colleague did a sponsored climb of Snowdon to raise money for breast cancer. They are hoping to raise £2,000 which will then be donated to Christie’s. It was a very big challenge on the hottest day of the year so far but they all managed to get to the summit. A big thank you goes to all colleagues for their encouragement and sponsorship. Pictures will be on Christie’s website and an article has been sent to the Bury Times.
If you would like to donate to this worthy cause, please contact any of the members of staff who took part.

Novelty Cake Competition 2011 |
|
On Friday 11th March we held our annual novelty cake competition in the Food Technology Department. Mr John Slattery, of Slattery’s Patissier and Chocolatier, kindly agreed to judge our competition once again and remarked on the incredibly high standard that our Year 10 learners had achieved. He picked out seven cakes for
special mention produced by Bailey Kent, Bethany Clark, Harley Frazer, Austin Jones, Martina Gregoriou, Wesley Dobbs and Gemma Hill. Each of these lucky learners were awarded a Slattery’s chocolate medal and then the three overall winners were selected - Martina Gregoriou, Bethany Clark and Gemma Hill who were all presented with cookery books by Mr Slattery and congratulated on their wonderful achievement.
