Headteacher's Introducton

mr_roberts.png  If your son or daughter is about to make the move from primary to secondary education, you are probably concerned about the change. Your child will be anxious about beginning life in a different larger community and you will want to know whether comprehensive schools in general, and Castlebrook High School in particular, can provide the best for all of its pupils, ensuring that each will achieve their fullest potential, both academically and socially.  I feel sure that you need have no fears. I am confident that your child will reach his or her full potential, always providing that the school and the home are in tune, each being aware of what the other is striving to do.  The three major aims, which underpin our thoughts and planning, are
  • To provide a community of people, working together to ensure that each child attains the highest level of achievement of which he or she is capable, including each child’s realisation of his/her potential in public examinations
  • To ensure that the education of all children is held to be of equal importance.
  • To produce young adults who are tolerant and who know how to work hard and take advantage of given opportunities.
These aims are usually summarised as “to provide and achieve the “Best for All”.   Our Web Site will show you how we organise ourselves to achieve these aims. I hope that it will also emphasise how we value the part that you, as a parent, can play in the education and development of your child. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to call me or visit the school to see it in operation.  Castlebrook is proud of what it achieves for its pupils. I hope you will soon become equally proud that your child has become part of this community.
