GCSE Results Day - Tuesday 24th August 2010
Arrangements for your son/daughter to collect their GCSE/BTEC results. This year, for the first time, we will have about 500 learners collecting their results and it is therefore very important that your child arrives for their results at the specified time below.
Year 11 learners that have already left school are to arrive for their results in the Main Hall, accessed via the Approach Road and Hall Fire Exit door, between 10am and 11.30am.
Past Year 9 and past Year 10 learners (ie current Year 10 and Year 11) are to arrive for their results in the Main Hall, accessed via the Approach Road and Hall Fire Exit door, between 12 noon and 1.30pm.
Any learner who arrives earlier than the specified time will have to wait for their results until the time shown above.
Please note that only the learner themselves can collect the results in person. However, if the learner is unavailable then a parent/carer can collect the results with a signed letter from the learner to this effect. If you and your family are away on results day then results can be collected at the start of the new term. Alternatively learners can leave a stamped addressed envelope, no smaller than A5 size, at the main reception office before school closes on 16th July.

Ofsted judge Castlebrook to be ‘good.’
I have great pleasure in reporting that the school was judged to be ‘good’ in the Ofsted inspection that took place on the 10th & 11th March 2010. The published report shows that the school has made significant progress since the inspection in September 2006 especially in light of the raised expectations in the Ofsted criteria.
Comments in the report include, “Following a period of rapid change Castlebrook is now providing its students with a good education. The leadership team places a clear emphasis on raising attainment. Students are well supported and benefit from a highly personalised curriculum.….a large majority of students make good progress…students say they feel safe in school….behaviour is good. The majority of teaching is good and learning normally takes place at a brisk pace. Students’ achievement is good. An overwhelming majority of students reported they enjoyed coming to school. Financial management is secure and the school provides good value for money.”
Please see 'newletters' section for full report.
